About the Festival

MusicFest is a long-running and beloved local chamber music festival that became a partnership with Telluride Chamber Music in 2022. Curated by co-Artistic Directors Kathryn Lockwood and Yousif Sheronick of duoJalal, the festival presents world-class performances in the gorgeous home of Anne & Vincent Mai — a restored barn at 10,000 feet with unparalleled views of Mt. Sunshine, designed for experiencing chamber music up close.

This year's festival is dedicated to the memory of Barbara Lockwood, mother of Artistic Director Kathryn Lockwood.

The Duo Behind the Festival

duoJalal

Genre-blurring chamber music from violist Kathryn Lockwood and percussionist Yousif Sheronick — MusicFest's co-Artistic Directors. Adventurous and category-defying, the duo bridges classical traditions with global rhythms.

Their work has taken them from Carnegie Hall to festivals across six continents, and they are in residence at the Four Seasons in Music concert series at the Sands Point Preserve on Long Island. Together, since 2022, they have curated MusicFest at Telluride Chamber Music.

The Mai Home

MusicFest takes place in the beautiful home of Anne and Vincent Mai — a restored barn at 10,000 feet with views of Mt. Sunshine and Box Canyon. Don't let "private home" fool you: it's open to anyone who buys a ticket, and the small-room intimacy is the whole point. By the second concert you'll know the regulars. By the third you'll be one.

Directions come with your ticket. The address is kept private as a courtesy to the family who donates the venue each summer.

Ticket revenue covers about 10% of the festival.

MusicFest is separately funded from TCM's annual programs. The rest is up to people like you who love this kind of music in this kind of setting.
